Small Works Show at WREN Local Works

As usual, the Small Works opening reception at WREN in Bethlehem was AWESOME!  Not much elbow room, but tons of creative energy crackling.  Had the opportunity to talk with many of the artists and lots of interesting folks in general.  A great event.  If you missed it, make a point of making the next one.

Happy to announce that I was one of the winner's of WREN's Small Works Show Poster contest.  Come check out the show and in particular the opening on Dec. 6 from 5-7pm.  The creative energy that night literally oozes out the cracks of the gallery.

There are tons of artists in attendance, as well as art lovers and other creative types.  The variety of work and artistic vibe of the evening is inspirational.  See you there!

These three acrylic landscapes walked out the door today at the WREN Gallery at the Mount Washington.  Psyched!  Love that WREN Gallery.  If you're in the neighborhood, stop by.  Lovely place.

My latest solo show opens this Thursday, Oct. 3rd, 2013 at the Quimby Gallery at Lyndon State College, Lyndonville, Vermont.  The show features many new landscape paintings.  The weather will be beautiful on Thursday so take a ride, enjoy the foliage and come view the show.  Hope to see you there!

affiliation with the new WREN Gallery at the Mount Washington Hotel in NH.  Stunning gallery in the main lobby of the magnificent Omni Mount Washington.  It's been open for business for a mere two weeks and work is already moving off the wall.  Very excited!

Art Educator's Institute 2013

Had another great week at the NH Institute of Art, Art Educator's Institute.  Took a figure drawing class that was enlightening and inspiring.  Used an interesting technique of painting the figure using brayers and a monochromatic palette.

Challenging, with provocative results that I will attempt with my students.  Afternoon class was a digital painting course using photoshop.  Was a little frustrating for a photoshop dummy like myself, but I finally produced a piece that was fun and I certainly learned a lot that I can hopefully pass on to my students as well.  Hated for it to end, as always.  Now for some, hopefully, long productive days in my own studio.

NH Institute of Art Educator's Institute 2013

At the NH Institute of Art for their 2013 Educator's Institute.  Will begin digital painting and figure drawing classes tomorrow.  Met with some old friends and new ones over a great Mexican dinner tonight.  Begin bright and early tomorrow.  Will post some pics and hopefully some interesting artwork in the days to come.

Wall to wall people!  Hard to see the work it was so packed, but the energy was amazing.  Exciting show with some very interesting work.  So happy to be a part of it.  Love WREN!

Friday, April 5--"Figuratively Speaking" opens at the WREN Gallery in Bethlehem.  It's their spring member show and I have 3 new landscapes in the exhibition.  Check it out, 5 - 7 pm!

New Work

I'm loving this new format.  There's something very aesthetically pleasing about painting a picture on these big canvas blocks.  Of course, I love the subject matter too.  Perfectly suited to these painting surfaces. So........a couple new ones.

LPL Financial Art Show and Chamber Mixer

Wonderful opening reception and open house at Steve Bissonnette's LPL Financial offices in Lancaster.  Beautiful show in a truly beautiful space.  Some fine live music and wonderful refreshments as well.  Steve is a wonderful patron of the arts and artist himself.  You can stop in to see the exhibit through the month of February.
