Counting down until the MFA residency begins! 4 more days! Just about packed. Not sure how I'm fitting it all in my car. So much to bring aside from the 12 paintings I need to pack. So much unknown. I'll be happy to have this first residency under my belt and be assigned a mentor. Anxious about fitting it all into my already insane daily life. Determined to make it work though. It's something I've dreamed about for so long. Hope to have time to post my progress. Happy New Year!

MFA at NH Institute of Art
Received good news this week. I've been accepted into the MFA program at NH Institute of Art in Manchester, NH. I'll be starting my studies in January with a concentration on painting. Five separate residencies will take me between Peterborough at Sharon Art Center and the Institute in Manchester. I'll be working with a mentor between those residencies. This is a new chapter with exciting possibilities. Watch my blog for samples of work, musings and developments.

Paris/Amsterdam
Recently returned from a 10 day excursion to Paris and Amsterdam with a group of close gal friends. 1st time spending an extended time in Amsterdam, which was easily my favorite. A bohemian fairytale! Got to see lots of wonderful art. Was fortunate to see a Van Gogh show at the D'Orsay in Paris. I was reminded of why he continues to be one of my favorites. I was brought to tears not only because of the power and emotion of his work, but because of his exceedingly sad story. Got to see the Dutch masters at the Rijk, in Amsterdam. Great art, food, drink and companions. Interesting exhibit by the Parisian artist JR at the Pantheon. Lots of inspiration for new paintings. Wonderful way to begin summer vacation.
