My pieces for the collaboration show at WREN.  Linda Tase is the potter.  The opening is Friday, April 3rd, 2015.  It promises to be an interesting show and the receptions are always a blast!

MFA Exploration and Experimentation

  While the work is challenging, primarily because of having to make the time in a life that has very little of it that's not already engaged in work and other commitments, I'm happy to be working outside of my own box and giving myself permission to experiment.  Definitely having some fun--in a serious way, of course.  Been looking at Chihuly, Diebenkorn, Anthony Bishop, The Scottish Colorists, Gerard Richter and a handful of others. Figuring out where my work fits into the contemporary conversation.

Counting down until the MFA residency begins! 4 more days!  Just about packed.  Not sure how I'm fitting it all in my car.  So much to bring aside from the 12 paintings I need to pack.  So much unknown.  I'll be happy to have this first residency under my belt and be assigned a mentor.  Anxious about fitting it all into my already insane daily life.  Determined to make it work though.  It's something I've dreamed about for so long.  Hope to have time to post my progress.  Happy New Year!

I'm happy to say that I was one of the winners of the poster contest for WREN's annual Small Works Show.  It's a great event with tons of interesting artists to meet and lots of wonderful art to view.  Check it out!
